Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital offers a variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These special services include the following:

Mail
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each morning by volunteers. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded to your home. Stationery may be purchased in the gift shop. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station or given to a volunteer.

Flowers
Flowers are delivered to your room by area florists. Please keep in mind that large size plants and flowers are difficult to deliver and remove upon discharge. Please be courteous to your suite mate, as some people are allergic to flowers.

Newspapers
Newspapers are delivered to your room Monday through Friday. A newspaper stand is located outside the South lobby entrance.

Notary Public
The services of a notary are available for patients free of charge. For information call the hospital operator by dialing "0."

Interpreters
The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of foreign languages should a patient require it.

For the Hearing Impaired
Devices are available to assist patients with special needs. For the hearing impaired, a Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD), is available. To make arrangements for the TDD please call the Guest Relations Department at extension 3522 or contact Security by dialing "0."

Gift Shop Services
The Cypress Tree gift shop, staffed by volunteers, is currently located down the main hall of the hospital across from PBX, and offers everything from toothpaste to fine gifts and silk floral arrangements. The Cypress Tree is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Cypress Tree phone number is extension 3186.

Chapel
The chapel is located adjacent to the elevator area on the first floor. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and meditation.

Any questions concerning birth certificate information for your newborn may be directed to the health information department at (281) 897-3174 or (281) 897-3412, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
