April Health eNewsletter

Spring is in the air and the weather is great for outdoor activities with family and friends. Now is the perfect time to take a moment for your health and well-being by starting a new exercise. Walk your dog or take a jog to start a new healthy chapter in your life.

Enjoy the warm, sunny weather, but don’t forget to protect your skin. Repeated exposure to sun can prematurely age skin and increase your risk of skin cancer. Remember to keep yourself and your kids sun-safe – protect your eyes, wear sunscreen and avoid exposure between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the sun is most intense.

April is Cancer Control Month. Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the United States, but many cancers can be successfully treated if diagnosed early. Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is committed to the early detection and prevention of cancer through education, screenings and regular health exams to help you reduce your risk of developing a serious health condition.

Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is committed to providing quality care for you and your family. Learn about some of our latest initiatives below, research health topics on our web site and find an event that interests you.

Stay a Heartbeat Ahead of Heart Disease

Heart disease continues to be the nation's number one killer, and women are its prime target. Start protecting yourself from heart disease today by making an appointment for your personalized cardiac screening. The screening will provide you with baseline heart screening services that may supply you with the information you need to possibly prevent heart disease and related problems.

Don’t Let Allergies Get in Your Way

Blooming spring flowers can mean allergies, itchy eyes and sneezing for some families. Allergy symptoms can often be treated by over-the-counter products. Visit your family physician to learn how you can control your allergy symptoms this season, or click here to find a physician near you.
