Pregnancy and childbirth are special, extraordinary times for growing families, and Cy-Fair Hospital believes that your health care throughout this journey should be special too. Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is proud to deliver award-winning care to the northwest Houston community, a level of care that has positioned Cy-Fair among the top 10% of hospitals nationwide for the past three years.

A study issued today by HealthGrades, a leading independent health care ratings organizations, gives Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital a five-star rating for clinical excellence in maternity care and recognizes the hospital as a recipient of the HealthGrades Maternity Care Excellence Award™ for the third year in a row. Cy-Fair is the only hospital in the northwest Houston area to receive a five-star rating, the highest possible HealthGrades rating, for seven consecutive years.

“Over 32,000 babies have been delivered at Cy-Fair since it opened in 1983,” says Lisa Cox, RN, Director of the Women’s Health Center at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital. “The vast experience and remarkable dedication of our nurses, physicians, and ancillary staff help provide the highest levels of care to our patients and their families.”

Using objective patient-outcome data collected from state governments, the study ranks hospitals based on their maternal complication rates for vaginal and C-section deliveries as well as neonatal mortality rates. Superior patient outcomes have allowed hospitals such as Cypress Fairbanks to be recognized as a recipient of the HealthGrades Maternity Care Excellence Award™.

“Objective data shows that hospitals can vary in terms of complication rates and neonatal mortality rates,” said Rick May, MD, a vice president with HealthGrades and co-author of the study. “The hospitals in the top 10% in the nation for maternity care should be proud not only of the outstanding care they deliver, but also for the quality benchmarks they are setting for other hospitals to follow.”

The hospital’s Women’s Health Center offers quality care provided by experienced obstetricians and fertility specialists, an on-site Level III neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) with transport services available from area hospitals, spacious private labor and delivery suites with modern décor, pregnancy and baby care educational classes, and advanced ultrasound imaging services.

“We truly care about our patients. Their growing families are our growing families, and we work tirelessly to provide excellent care every step of the way,” adds Cox.
