Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital makes donation to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization in name of Karey Miller to celebrate National Nurses Week and National Hospital & Healthcare Week

As a part of the National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week celebration, held May 12 through May 19, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital and the Tenet Healthcare Foundation are honoring Karey Miller with a $500 donation to the Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization.

“It is an honor to have Karey Miller representing Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital,” said Terry Wheeler, Chief Executive Officer.  “Her hard work and dedication to providing quality care to patients is remarkable, and both our community and hospital are fortunate to have someone so committed to their work.”

Karey has been a Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital employee for over four years and was selected as the 2006 Employee of the Year. She is very knowledgeable and technically competent in her field, but Karey goes the extra mile to provide compassionate care to patients and their family members.

As part of the celebration of National Nurses Week and National Hospital and Healthcare Week, the Tenet Healthcare Foundation will distribute more than $30,000 in donations on behalf of employees at Tenet hospitals across the country.

This week is a time to say “thank you” to all of the health care professionals who have dedicated their lives to care for our community. These are the people who care for you in the emergency room, hold your hand after surgery and hand you your newborn baby. To them work is not merely a job; it is a calling to serve and care for people. Please take the time this week, and all weeks to show your appreciation for all that they do.
