Free event teaches women about self breast care and how to select the right bra.
Women age 40 and older are invited to a free, private breast self-exam consultation and bra fitting session hosted by Cypress Fairbanks Women’s Imaging Center and the Women’s Health Boutique. The event will be held on Saturday, May 3, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Women’s Imaging Center. Reservations are required and space is limited. Call 800-681-2733 to make your reservation today.
Women will meet with a registered technologist to discuss one-on-one how to perform breast self-exams. Consultants from the Women’s Health Boutique will be on-site to provide complimentary, private bra fittings for all figure types.
The American Cancer Society recommends that women have a mammogram and clinical breast exam every year after age 40. Women also should perform monthly breast self-exams. A properly fitting bra helps keep breasts supported during physical activities and can prevent injury to breast tissue. Well-fitting bras also are important for posture, especially for women with large breasts.
