Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital of Houston celebrates National Radiologic Technology Week® to honor the hard work and accomplishments of its radiologic technologists. NRTW® is celebrated each year during the week that includes Nov. 8, the day that German physicist Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered the x-ray in 1895.

Staffed by more than 75 employees, the Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Radiology Department performs more than 50,000 procedures annually. Many of the Tenet R.T.s have worked for the hospital for more than 10 years and have witnessed the growth of the department and rapid advances in imaging technology. R.T.’s specialize in breast imaging, computed tomography, cardiac-interventional procedures, magnetic resonance imaging, nuclear medicine, ultrasound, radiation therapy and general diagnostic radiology.

The Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Radiology Department has grown to specialize in some of the most advanced imaging methods available today, including 64 slice Cardiac CT, High-Field Breast MRI, PET CT and Digital Mammography.
