The Volunteer Auxiliary at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is proud to announce that three students have been selected this year by the Auxiliary to each be the recipient of a $4,000 college scholarship. The Volunteer Auxiliary is a non-profit organization that utilizes its donations and gift shop proceeds to award scholarships to deserving students pursuing careers in health care. Including this year’s scholarships, the group has awarded $57,000 in scholarships during the past six years.

A committee of volunteers gathered to evaluate applications submitted by local students from the Cy-Fair area. Many notable students stood out for their overall school performance, community involvement and interests in making a difference in the health care industry. The following students were selected to receive this year’s honor:

Laura Burt – Graduated from Cypress Woods High School and plans to attend the University of Texas at Tyler.

Caitlyn Fisher – Graduated from Cypress Fairbanks High School and plans to attend the Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Lydia Matar – Graduated from Cypress Falls High School and plans to attend the University of Texas at Austin.

The Volunteer Auxiliary and Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital wish the scholarship recipients and all the applicants the best of luck in their education and future professions. Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital would like to thank the Volunteer Auxiliary for their continuing support of the community, the hospital and the future generation of health care professionals.
