Your room has been thoroughly prepared for your arrival and we hope that you find it to your satisfaction. Housekeeping services are available 24-hours a day. Regular daily service is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Should you have any comments, please contact your attending nurse or the Housekeeping Department at extension 3387.
Your Hospital Bed
Hospital beds are electrically operated, and your nurse will show you how to work your bed properly. Your hospital bed is probably higher and narrower than your bed at home. Bedside rails are for your protection. They may be raised at night or during the day if you are resting, recovering from surgery or taking certain medications.
All rooms in the hospital are centrally heated and air-conditioned. If your room temperature is not comfortable, please notify the nursing staff.
Calling Your Nurse/Emergency Call Light
A button to call your nurse is located at your bedside. When you press the button, the nurses’ station is alerted that you need assistance, and a light flashes on above your door. A staff member will respond to your signal as soon as possible.
Leaving the Unit
If you want to leave the unit, please check first at the nurses’ station to make sure your doctor has given approval and to let the staff know where you can be reached. It is important to stay in your room until your doctor has made rounds and treatments have been completed.
