For Your Safety and Security
Smoking Policy
Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is a smoke-free campus. Smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the grounds including parking lots.

Fire Drills
For your protection, the hospital conducts fire and disaster drills regularly. If a drill occurs while you are here, please remain in your room and do not become alarmed. The hospital is a fire-resistant building, and the staff is trained in fire protection.

Medications from Home
All medications you take while in the hospital are prescribed by your doctor, dispensed by the hospital pharmacy and administered by a nurse. If any medication is required during your stay, your doctor will prescribe it for you. Please do not bring any medications from home. Patients are not permitted to administer their own drugs or keep personal medications at their bedsides. Please be sure to inform your doctor and nurse if you have been taking medications recently or have any known allergies or adverse reactions to medications.

Patients are asked not to bring items of value to the hospital. If you do bring a valuable item, it should be deposited in the safe at the Safety and Security Office. The hospital does not accept responsibility for items of value unless they are deposited in the safe. To access the safe contact the Safety and Security Office by dialing the hospital operator — dial "0."

Personal Appliances
For safety reasons personal appliances such as heating pads, electric blankets, fans or tape players are not permitted in patient areas. Battery operated TVs (for ICU), battery and electrically operated razors, battery operated radios, blow dryers, curling irons and hot rollers are allowed, but must be inspected by the Plant Operations Department prior to use. VCRs and tape players are permitted for patients who will require longer periods of hospitalization.
