Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital has been part of the northwest Houston community since 1983. Over $37 million has been invested over the past three years for facility renovations, construction of a new intensive care unit, emergency room expansion, and addition of a 64-slice computed tomography unit. The hospital will benefit from an additional $5.6 million in capital improvements by the end of 2006. These projects include a digital radiology Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and the addition of 26 new private rooms.
Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital has built a solid reputation for providing quality care. In February 2005, the hospital initiated the development and implementation of an open heart program with interventional cardiology services. The program helps meet the growing community need for more intensive cardiac care, including treatment of acute myocardial infarctions (heart attacks) and coronary artery bypass grafts.

Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is the only hospital in northwest Houston to receive a five-star rating for maternity care four years in a row (2004, 2005, 2006, 2007) by HealthGrades. Additionally, Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital is designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery (ASBS). The hospital has also earned CIGNA 2006 Center of Excellence designations for bariatrics, chest pain, irregular heartbeat, stroke and vaginal delivery.
In 2005, CIGNA designations were given in areas of cardiac catheterization, cesarean section, gallbladder removal, heart attack, stroke and vaginal delivery. Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center was named 2004 Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce Business of the Year.
