Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center Hospital offers a variety of special services to make your stay as pleasant and comfortable as possible. These special services include the following:
Letters and packages for patients are delivered each morning by volunteers. Letters and parcels that arrive after you have been discharged are forwarded to your home. Stationery may be purchased in the gift shop. Outgoing mail may be left at the nurses’ station or given to a volunteer.
Flowers are delivered to your room by area florists. Please keep in mind that large size plants and flowers are difficult to deliver and remove upon discharge. Please be courteous to your suite mate, as some people are allergic to flowers.
Newspapers are delivered to your room Monday through Friday.
The services of a notary are available for patients free of charge. For information call the hospital operator by dialing "0."
The hospital has access to interpreters for a number of foreign languages should a patient require it.
For the Hearing Impaired
Devices are available to assist patients with special needs. For the hearing impaired, a Telecommunication Device for the Deaf (TDD), is available. To make arrangements for the TDD please call the Guest Relations Department at extension 3522 or contact Security by dialing "0."
Gift Shop Services
The gift shop, staffed by volunteers, is currently located near the front entrance of the hospital, and offers everything from toothpaste to fine gifts and silk floral arrangements. The gift shop is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. The gift shop phone number is extension 3186.
The chapel is located adjacent to the main hospital elevator area. Visitors of all faiths are welcome to visit the chapel for prayer and meditation.
Birth certificates may only be obtained through the Houston Department of Health and Human Services Bureau of Vital Statistics. The Bureau of Vital Statistics office is located at:
